Effect of Electrical Stimulation of the Isolated Uterine Strip of the Rabbit
Abstract
1. Pharmacological analysis of the effects of electrical stimulation of the isolated uterine strips of the rabbit has been made.
2.The electrical stimulation produced contraction of the nonpregnant and pregnant strips, which was markedly inhibited in the presence of tetrodotoxin.
3. The contraction induced by the electrical stimulation was not affected b chlorisondamine, physostigmine and regitine. The contraction was slightly inhibited by atropine.
4. It is inferred that the adrenergic receptors and cholinergic receptors in the uterine muscle do not. play important role in production of the contraction by the elctrical stimulation.
